Project Leap

Circus arts transcend all boundaries and challenges physical limitations. It is our belief that through attending our workshops, children and youths are given opportunities to explore their strengths in performance arts and exercise their creativity while at the same time building up their perseverance, discipline and self-esteem. Our instructors are trained in sports coaching, working with youth in difficulty, as well as working with participants with special needs. They are equipped with skills to handle participants with diverse needs. Our holistic approach ensures that there is continuity in the programme from the basic level to the advance level allowing the students to pick up different skill sets as they progress through the levels.

Project Leap is a 13 session programme leading to a performance. Participants would be given opportunities to be exposed to a variety of circus props. They would then be led to discover their strengths in a particular prop whereby specialization of the prop leading up to a performance takes place. Project Leap provides a platform for self-discovery, teamwork and building of self-esteem as activities are pitched at a level whereby participants are likely to succeed.

Project Leap aims to:

Develop self-esteem, self-confidence and the ability to operate in a team.
Promote the development of creativity and perseverance in young people.
Educate participants to the needs of the under-privileged through the (CIP) component.


Duration: 13 x 2 hrs session

Highlights: Participants would get exposed at least 7 different types of circus skills. Exciting elements includes learning to walk on the walking globe and the stilts. Participants would also start as a noob and end as a performer, performing for the under-privileged at the end of the programme.

Circus Sampler

Circus Sampler aims to:

• Develop self-esteem and self-confidence in participants.

• Challenge and improve the fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination of participants.

Highlights: Participants would get to try at least 2 circus skills (Diabolo and Plate Spinning) that are easily attainable and visually pleasing helping them to enhance their self-esteem and confidence. Sampler programmes can range anything from one session to any number of sessions determined by the client.

Duration: (1 -4 sessions x 1.5 hours)

Rubik’s Puzzle

The Rubik’s Cube is one of the world’s most popular toy with 450 million sold worldwide since its launch in 1977. Due to its interesting combination of complexity and ubiquity, the Cube or solving it became the symbol of intelligence and problem solving.

By bringing the participants through the different phase of problem solving, from making mistakes, feeling frustrated, persevering through the difficulties to finally feeling elated when one can solve a side of the cube, we hope to help them understand the different facets of problem solving and the value of grit in problem solving

Objectives 

  1. To help participants understand the different phases and facets of problem solving.
  2. To help participants understand the value of grit in problem solving. 
  3. Everyone in the team plays a part in the bigger picture no matter how big or small.
  4. The toughest puzzle can be solved only by everyone putting in their fair share of effort.

Duration: (2 sessions x 1.5 hour)

Bubble-logy101

Bubble-logy101 aims to:

Bubble-logy101 is a 4 session design to enable participants to sample treats from the world of Bubbles. Bubble-logy101 provides a platform for young people to enjoy learning and at the same time give them an opportunity to gain a sense of achievement and greater self-confidence. Through this workshop, we hope to encourage the participants to stretch their creativity by concocting their own show bubbles solution using ingredients that can be found at home.

Objectives

1. Develop self-esteem
2. Promote the development of creativity and perseverance in young people.
3. Encourage the participants to think out of the box.

Duration: ( 4 sessions x 1.5 hour)

Magic Confidence

Magical confidence” is a 4 session workshop created to enhance confidence in students. As the name of the workshop suggest, the main goal of this would be to increase confidence level in the students and thus acting as a springboard for their future undertakings. Some of the tricks that are taught are easily achievable thus giving them instant esteem. Other tricks require talking as a form of presentation thus giving them an opportunity to script their act and enhance their public speaking skills.       

 

Programme objectives

Magical confidence aims to:

  1. Develop students’ self-esteem through learning magic. 
  2. Bring forth the students’ creativity and confidence by giving them a platform to create their script for a magic act presentation.
  3. Shine a positive light on these students through a school performance. 

 

Duration: ( 4 sessions x 1.5 hour)

Balloon Sampler

BalloonSampler (I) multiple balloon workshop program design to enable participants to sample treats from the world of circus such as Balloon Sculpting. BalloonSampler provides a platform for young people to enjoy learning and at the same time give them an opportunity to gain a sense of achievement and greater self-confidence. The balloon sculptures taught are easily achievable giving the participants instant self-esteem whilst also allowing them to exercise their creativity. 

Programme Objectives 

BalloonSampler aims to: 

  1. Develop self-esteem, self confidence in participants 
  2. Stretch the participants’ creativity through balloon sculpting
